A policy is property.

In 1911, the U.S. Supreme Court held in Grigsby v. Russell, 222 U.S. 149 (1911), that a life insurance policy is transferable property — an asset its owner may sell, like a house or a share.
Most owners never learn this. Roughly 85% of senior policies lapse or surrender without paying a benefit, returning pennies — or nothing — for decades of premiums.

The alternative is a life settlement

The sale of a policy, through licensed providers, at a price historically several times its cash surrender value.

The seller receives fair value in life; the purchaser assumes the premiums and receives the benefit at maturity.

Life settlements are regulated in the vast majority of U.S. states, with licensed providers and brokers, mandated disclosures, and consumer protections.

Our role.

Nemi Capital is a disciplined institutional purchaser. We acquire policies exclusively through licensed life settlement providers and in the institutional secondary market — never directly from consumers.
Every acquisition passes independent medical underwriting and rigorous fair-value analysis. We are patient, selective, and built to hold every policy to maturity.
When a policy finds its fair price, everyone is paid what they are owed:
the seller, in life; the purchaser, in time.
